The reason why I dont update as often as the time last time during school time around night time, is not because I am too busy with stuff. No, I wont lie even if it makes me sound like a loser that I have too much time in my hand to update every millisecond of the day.
But still, its not that I dont have any life like some who scramble frantically and desperately up the stairs to reach the best social circles and the 'in' crowds of party animals and alchohol fanatics. I laugh at them.
Anyways, the reason is basically due to the fact that my previous entry (The Prom entry) required a lot of effort that it should remain as the first entry anyone would see once they hit into my blog page. It took me freakin an hour to do that post ok!
Moving on,
Im giving guitar lessons.
HAHA! No lar... Im given guitar lessons by a really nice person named Shawn. And so I will be seeing him quite often as he labours to teach a very slow-learner of the art of pressing, picking, strumming a guitar. Teabreaks not included.
Yar, so it brings me to another topic on aspiring singers and musicians.
As you all know, I have recently came back from Indonesia. The real purpose of going there is to see the world's hugest lake aka Lake Toba.
Since how enormously big the lake is, there are boats to ferry us here and there to differnt parts of the island. So, on our boat ride back to our starting point, unexpectedly, 3 Indonesian boys suddenly appeared infront of all of us and the rest of the foreign passengers and started to perform for us.
Only using one made-in-China anicent-looking guitar and dressed in their tattered clothes, the guitar was played and they sang their Indonesian songs which not one of us could understand.
But I tell you, they were really really good.
Picture as proof.
Seriously. They are good. No one chao xiaed. Even in their foreign language, we all enjoyed it. The pitch and tone were perfect, they harmonized flawlessly. And what? With only a single instrument without any professional singing background and coaching or high-tech gizmos like mircrophones, amplifiers or computers to adjust the faults?
These 3 not well-off Indonesia boys put those arrogant, high-and-mighty aspiring singers and musicians to shame.
Wait one second, let me get one thing straight.
Im putting down the arrogant, high-and-mighty aspiring singers and musicians, and not the normal aspiring singers and musicians. There is a difference.
For the arrogant, high-and-mighty, cocky, aggravating, annoying, boastful, or whatever word you can throw in, you get this 'Im so great, Im so good ' vibe which makes people like me despise you immensly. As in they frequantly and openly boast how musically-inclined they are, how they can hit a high-C while some cant, how they dont just play one but a wide array of intruments, how they repeat themselves over and over again about the musical greatness in them or in their powerpuff bands and hint candidly but resolvely that they gonna have gigs or roadshows, this and that, shit and crap...
Just makes me wanna bitchslap them.
Aside them, you have your the good old aspiring singers and musicians who are really passionate in what they're doing but they are humble. They dont go around each hawker table and start annoucing "Oh hi, I sing better than you." but only use their musical hobby as a conversaton topic or something else that does not give off a superior vibe.
Of course, Im sure everyone has at least one or two of the dumb aspiring singers and musicians in their lives. For me, I can count the numbers with one hand.
And also,
Olivia invited me to the Asian Conference thingy at expo last Sunday. It was my very first time I experienced a live performance by an international star on stage. But, it was a Chinese Star. Still, it was free!
So the star is this guy,
His name is Lin Jun Jie, am I right? Girls?
I remebered how offended I was when Olivia thought I didnt know who he is. Hey, I know who is Jay Chou, Steph Sun, 183club, 6655 club and erm... that girl that sang the song which goes like ' Tian Tian Me Me'.
And I must say, he sings really well! As in really really well!
But, when he speaks in English, he sounds like this guy down here:
